Israel, Continue to Lead the Free World

On Friday, Israel did what the United States should have done decades ago, as I have written again and again. Israel struck Iran. Thank you, Israel, for leading the free world against this mortal threat to all civilized people. I hope you stay the course until the Iranian regime is destroyed.

Israel’s mission is much more difficult and dangerous than it would have been decades ago, because Iran’s nuclear program is now dispersed and deep underground, and Iran now has thousands of ballistic missiles, each carrying roughly a thousand pounds of explosives. While Israel attacks military targets, Iran is sending missiles into civilian populations.

Moreover, Israel is constrained—by international pressure (including US?) and its own misplaced moral benevolence—from using its full military might to win this war. If I could offer one piece of advice to Israel, it would be this: Do not subordinate the safety of your own people to the safety of Iranian civilians; the latter is the moral responsibility of Iran, not Israel.

As I wrote the day after the October 7 murders by Hamas,

Israel, show us how good can triumph. Don’t shield your enemies from their own evil. Deliver justice, to its full extent. Fight in the name of your rational self-interest, for your right to survive and flourish.

For news coverage of the war, I especially recommend these sources:

IDF Defense Forces

The Free Press

The Epoch Times
